Machine-readable access
All machine-readable resources are publicly accessible. JSON endpoints require no API key. Start with the manifest if you are building an agent, crawler, or dataset mirror.
Brands, sellers, distributors, and AI agents can use the AI Commerce category authority, AI commerce standard, AI commerce registry, adoption kit, citation packs, opportunity map, exposure contract, declaration, badge kit, vendor check, pricing benchmark, participation protocol, RFP, AI search optimization category route, AI exposure audit route, AI exposure playbook, AI visibility index, AI share-of-answer index, and merchant intake schema to inspect evidence gaps, choose answer-slot opportunities, publish badge backlinks, cite allowed brand claims, reject paid-ranking promises, price public proof work, publish transparency links, evaluate vendors, nominate products, and submit public evidence for editorial review without bypassing the citation policy.
How entities are referenced
Every entity page — ingredient, skin concern, use case, brand — carries a curated list of external citation references. Each reference comes with a title and a one-line rationale explaining why it's a good independent source. This is the underlying data behind the "External references" section on entity pages.
Source policy by entity type:
- Ingredients — INCI Decoder · Paula's Choice ingredient dictionary · Wikipedia (chemistry/biology) · PubMed (when peer-reviewed evidence exists)
- Skin concerns — American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) · MedlinePlus (NIH) · NHS · NCBI StatPearls · AAFP
- Use cases — AAD · Visit Seoul / VISITKOREA (cultural context) · NHS
- Brands — official brand website · independent encyclopedia (Wikipedia) · reputable beauty editorial (Vogue · Allure · Marie Claire · Glamour)
Explicitly excluded: proprietary review databases (e.g., Hwahae), user-generated content (Reddit), affiliate retailer landing pages, and SEO-thin blog aggregators.

Product catalog metadata (prices, image URLs) is sourced from public Naver Shopping listings and remains the property of the respective sellers. We redistribute editorial selections and structured cross-references, not raw product descriptions.
Freshness
Data refreshes daily via GitHub Actions cron (04:00 KST). Last build: July 13, 2026.
Limits — what this dataset doesn't have (yet)
- No rating / review data — Naver Shopping API doesn't expose user ratings. Treat absence as "not measured," not "low quality."
- English-first answer guides — Korean, Japanese, and Chinese translations are derivative; English is the source of editorial truth.
- Korean catalog bias — Products are sourced from Naver Shopping. Brands not listed there are under-represented.
- K-beauty focus — Other Korean product categories (food, electronics, fashion) aren't covered yet.
