What we collect

K-Beauty Answers does not require an account to browse. We do not sell personal data.

We use the following services:

• Google Analytics 4, only after you allow analytics: page visits, product searches (without the text you type), product selections, product-detail views and retailer-link clicks. Analytics cookies provide pseudonymous browser identifiers. Google processes this data under its own privacy terms; this is not anonymous tracking. Our custom events exclude search text, URL query strings, chat content and uploaded images. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in our tag configuration. A retailer click is not evidence of a purchase.
• Cloudflare (our hosting provider): standard request logs (IP, user agent) for security and abuse prevention, retained per Cloudflare's policy.

Optional first-party behavior analytics

Only after renewed analytics consent, we record menu, filter, sort and product interactions, page paths, retailer domains and active foreground time in our own database. Random browser identifiers connect repeat visits on the same browser for up to 90 days; they do not identify you by name or connect devices. Raw behavior records are deleted after 90 days. Identifier-free daily aggregates are retained for up to one year. We do not record typed search text, raw IP addresses or browser fingerprints in this behavior database.

Public-link reports contain aggregates only; customer-specific rows require at least five distinct browser identifiers. Individual journeys are restricted to local operator reports. Server-side crawler observations are separate from customer behavior. Bot classification is probabilistic, not proof of identity. Standard hosting security logs follow the host's policy.

Withdrawing consent stops future collection and removes browser identifiers, but does not retrospectively erase prior records. GA event-level retention is configured separately at two months; standard aggregate reports are not governed by that setting.

Optional voice and product-photo input

On supported browsers, voice input starts only after you press the voice button. Speech recognition is provided by your browser and may use that browser provider's online speech service under its own privacy terms. K-Beauty Answers does not receive or store the raw audio.

Recognized text remains editable and is not applied until you confirm the search. Confirmed search text is stored in the page URL in your browser so the result can be bookmarked. If you reload or share that URL, its search text may be included in a normal request to our hosting provider, so do not include sensitive health information.

In the current product-photo preview, a selected product package or ingredient-label image stays on your device. It is not uploaded, stored, analyzed, or used for face or skin diagnosis.

Cookies

Analytics cookies are optional. Before permission or after rejection, our GA tag does not load. Use “Analytics settings” at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Rejecting after permission stops future custom events and removes accessible GA cookies; it does not delete data already sent to Google. We remember your choice in local browser storage for up to 90 days. Analytics cookies are configured for up to 90 days. Language preferences may also use local browser storage. Google may process analytics data outside your country.

Some links on this site (to retailers like YesStyle, StyleKorean, Amazon, Coupang, Olive Young) are affiliate links. If you click and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial picks. Rankings are based on product category fit, brand reputation, and where available, public rating data — not on commission rates.

External links

We link to Naver Shopping catalog pages and other retailers as references and sources. Their privacy practices are governed by those sites' own policies.

AI search citations

We explicitly welcome ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Claude, and other AI search crawlers to read and cite our content (see our robots.txt for the explicit allow list). When you arrive here from an AI answer, the referrer may identify the traffic source. If you allow analytics, the optional Google Analytics identifiers and events described above also apply.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site grows. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.

Advertising and your choices

Display advertising is not currently enabled. We are preparing to apply for Google AdSense. Site-ownership verification alone does not enable advertising or grant advertising consent.

If display ads are enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use advertising cookies to serve ads based on visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads where permitted and with any required consent. Advertising choices are separate from our optional analytics settings.

You can manage personalized advertising through Google My Ad Center and participating third-party vendors through YourAdChoices. These choices do not necessarily remove all advertising. See how Google uses information from partner sites.

Before enabling ads, we will publish the applicable advertising-partner information and provide the required consent and withdrawal controls. For personalized ads in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we will use a Google-certified consent management platform. Until that setup is verified, display advertising remains disabled.

Optional Microsoft Clarity

After renewed analytics permission, Microsoft Clarity captures interactions for heatmaps and masked session replays to help us improve the site. Rendered text and input contents are masked. Catalog search screens and pages with query strings, URL fragments or query-bearing referrers are excluded. We do not send names, email addresses or custom user identifiers to Clarity.

The Clarity script does not load before permission or after rejection. Analytics storage is allowed only after permission; advertising storage is denied. Microsoft may process browser, device, interaction and cookie data outside your country under its own privacy terms. Clarity cookie lifetimes are managed by Microsoft, separately from our 90-day consent choice.

Use Analytics settings to withdraw permission. Withdrawal reloads the page without Clarity and clears accessible Clarity cookies; it does not erase data already received by Microsoft. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
